sNN dependence of jet quenching

چکیده
The PHENIX experiment has established jet quenching at a center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV in Au+Au collisions. Recent measurements of Cu+Cu collisions at the same center-of-mass energy support a parton energy loss scenario. Furthermore, the onset of jet quenching was studied in Cu+Cu collisions for three center-of-mass energies 22.4, 62.4 and 200 GeV.

Dihadron correlations at high pT
Jet quenching in the matter created in high energy nucleusnucleus collisions provides a tomographic tool to probe the medium properties. Recent experimental results from the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) on characterization of jet production via dihadron correlations at high transverse momentum are reviewed. Expectations from the dihadron measurements for the lower energy √ sNN=62.4 Ge...
متن کاملM ar 2 00 7 Energy dependence of π ± , p and p̄ transverse momentum spectra for Au + Au collisions at √ s NN = 62 . 4 and 200 GeV
We study the energy dependence of the transverse momentum (pT) spectra for charged pions, protons and anti-protons for Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 62.4 and 200 GeV. Data are presented at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) for 0.2 < pT < 12 GeV/c. In the intermediate pT region (2 < pT < 6 GeV/c), the nuclear modification factor is higher at 62.4 GeV than at 200 GeV, while at higher pT (pT > 7 GeV/c) the m...
متن کاملSimulation of Jet Quenching in Heavy Ion Collisions
One of the important tools for studying the properties of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions is the analysis of a QCD jet production. The medium-induced energy loss of energetic partons, “jet quenching”, should be very different in the cold nuclear matter and QGP, resulting in many observable phenomena . Recent RHIC data on high-pT particle production at √ s = 20...

Leading hadron azimuthal correlations in ALICE central barrel
Leading hadron azimuthal angular correlations in the ALICE central barrel are studied with the HIJING event generator employing scenarios with and without inmedium jet quenching. We investigate the potential of leading hadron correlation studies in the high multiplicity environment of a Pb-Pb collision at √ sNN = 5.5 TeV in the central barrel of the ALICE detector.
